The main reason that the American Revolution was started besides the want of American Independence was because of three ideas.
The first big reason is the Boston Massacre which resulted in 5 civilian deaths by British troops. The second event that occurred was boycotting. The 13 colonies cut off trade from coming in and out of the 13 colonies which greatly affected Britain and the original 13 colonies. This was a big problem for the British because the 13 colonies were a major part of trading for the British.
The final event that played a big part in the start of the American Revolution was the Boston Tea Party. The colonists dumped tea into the Boston harbor which cost the British a lot of money and made them very mad. In the end these events all contributed to the start of the American Revolution.
